
Overview
The Rescue Diver Course is designed for experienced divers who want to enhance their ability to handle emergency situations and ensure the safety of themselves and their dive buddies. This course builds on your existing skills and knowledge, focusing on advanced techniques for preventing and managing diving emergencies. It’s an essential step for divers who want to take on a more proactive role in dive safety and emergency response.

Training and Skill Development
Throughout the course, you’ll receive both theoretical instruction and hands-on training. You’ll learn how to recognize and prevent potential dive hazards, and practice critical rescue skills such as managing out-of-air emergencies, performing underwater and surface rescues, and administering first aid. Scenarios and simulations will help you apply these skills in realistic situations, ensuring you’re prepared to respond effectively in emergencies.

Certification and Professional Growth
Completing the Rescue Diver Course earns you a certification that signifies your advanced capabilities in dive safety and emergency management. This certification not only enhances your diving skills but also opens opportunities for additional training and leadership roles, such as becoming a Divemaster or Instructor. By becoming a Rescue Diver, you’ll be better equipped to protect yourself and others, contributing to a safer diving community and gaining confidence in your ability to handle challenging situations underwater.

The Rescue Course in Details
The course typically takes 3 days to complete, split between classroom theory sessions and in-water training.
Knowledge Development will consist of videos, which correspond to each chapter in the manual, and answering Knowledge Review questions.
Your in-water training begins with practicing rescue exercises in confined water, followed by open water rescue scenarios in which you will make use of your newly learned skills in “real-life” rescue simulations. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills.

Certified Advanced Open Water Diver (or Junior AOW) with any recognized training agency (PADI, SSI, NAUI, CMAS, BSAC, etc)

Reef Fees
Mandatory for all divers here in Utila, they go to fund our buoy system to prevent anchor damage on the reef.
